Collective Flow Philosophy

Flow occurs when the challenge is high, the skills are strong, and creative expression is open. By fostering a collaborative, interactive space, all individuals get a well-rounded, authentic educational experience that includes emotional and mental growth as well as skill mastery. When groups of like-minded dancers come together in a sharing and supportive atmosphere, we experience Collective Flow –an open venue for artistic self-discovery and collaboration.

A Collective Flow Experience (CFE) is a holistic group training that combines collaborative philosophy, technique and expression for the purposes of aiding artists in discovering their own authentic expression. A Collective Flow Experience requires openness, honesty and equality of interactions between all present - including teachers - and actively avoidings gimmicks and melodrama, in pursuit of personal expression through dance.

You can tell a CFE by the mark to the right. The Collective Flow Philosophy was created by Lane Ellen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Practitioners of the Collective Flow Philosophy are:

  • Zafira Dance Company
  • Khivan
  • Mydwynter
  • You?

Collective keywords are high professionalism, integrity, ethics, sharing, honesty, communication. Flow is achieved through building skill mastery, challenging the self, and seeking personal expression.
